How to get free traffic...

Well, there are a lot of ways to get free traffic to your website. And if you have more time than money, you should go this route. In fact, many big corporations spend thousands on advertising, and NEVER implement any type of free advertising. Then computer geeks blow them away in search engine rankings.

I kind of agree with the computer geeks. I'd rather have organic ranking and free SE traffic than pay a ton of money for advertising.

So let's get to it. Some ways you may know to get traffic to your website are: submitting articles you have written to article directories, submitting videos to YouTube and others, submitting audios to other sites... called podcasting. You can even submit your URL, and get free backlinks.  Addme.com is a good one and it's free.

Seems pretty simple, eh?  Yet most people don't ever do it. They are just too lazy. They just buy PPC ads and hope for the best. Well, good luck to them I guess. I am slowly building free residual organic traffic and getting visitors to my websites everyday from it.

The idea is to get links back to your website, thus gaining visitors. Here is something to keep in mind when looking for places to post links back to your site.

Link to Yourself! You can get a free blog webpage from Blogger.com, write a review about your website and link to it. You can start your own free page on social networking websites like MySpace and FaceBook. Chances are, you already have a MySpace page... I created one too and never use it. The point is, I have a link back to my website, and if no one else sees it, the SE's will.

You can post free ads on sites like Craigslist and Backpage. In fact there are a ton of sites like this where you can post free links back to your website. Just do a search for "Post Free Ads." But, remember to make sure the site is reputable, and offers value to users... or don't use it.

You could find people who would compliment your site by doing a keyword search. Link to their site. Then send them an email and tell them you like their website, and you would like them to post a link to your site on theirs. Actually this method is no longer used by the majority of marketers, because all they do is give away traffic and rarely recieve any back.

If that sounds too hard, you can always post articles for free. I know I already mentioned this, but it is an easy way to get permanent links back to your site. These are one way links too, which are actually better than two way links... so post away.

There are still more ways to get free traffic. You could use RSS feeds like I do. You have to add content to your website all the time, but I do that anyway... so it works out. This is mostly used by bloggers, but as long as you add fresh and relevant content all the time, you are good to go. Then you can submit your feed and ping it. After that, your feed will show up in the SE's. A little time consuming, I'll admit... but free.

Don't feel bad. I haven't done everything yet either. There are still only 24 hours in a day, right?

Good luck,
