Controversial Christianity

Hi everyone. What I'm out to do here is make it clear that I don't judge anyone for what they believe, and that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. God gave us the freedom of choice. And that is a great gift.

I know that everyone on planet Earth believes something different. In fact, almost all Christians believe something different. And it's up to God to decide who goes to heaven according to His standards.

Let me give you a little background about myself. I sort of grew up in a Christian bubble. I mean, I went to public schools, but from home I had very limited access to the outside world. Like everyone, I knew all I needed to know at age 18 and I was ready to take on the world. I'll just let you use your imagination. God never left me... I left Him.

It turns out that I believe I have a calling on my life into the ministry. So I guess that's why I'm writing this right now. I know that God comes first, my wife comes second, and my 4 kids come next. Then... everyone else... meaning the ministry comes after making sure my family is taken care of.

I wasn't sure what I was going to write (this being my first post and all) but I don't want people to get some stereotyped idea of who I am. You see, I been a so-called Christian my whole life... but I've also sinned my whole life. I think that's where people get the wrong idea sometimes. I don't claim to be better than you. I don't claim to be better than anyone. I accept people for who they are. Most everyone has heard of Jesus before. I mean, you live how you CHOOSE to live, right? I can't change that. I'm not here to convince you, condemn you, or in any way persuade you to believe the Bible. In fact, sometimes Christians can be more annoying than anyone else.

Have you ever turned on the radio (to the Christian station) and heard some depressing song about how that person is a miserable wreck? Who the heck wants to hear that crap? Just because the guy says he's a Christian doesn't mean he should be on Christian radio. I mean, gangster rappers sing more uplifting stuff sometimes... you know, about overcoming obstacles, perservering, never giving up, you can have whatever you set your mind to, etc. Do you see where I coming from? Sounds controversial doesn't it? I guess I'm on the right track.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not out to see how many sins I can rack up. I'm just saying I don't care if you say you're a Christian or not. I want to know what you are up to. Are you making someone else's life better or worse? Tough question, I know.

Didn't Jesus come to help "sinners?" It was the leaders of the church who had a problem receiving him. The tax collectors (pronounced: thieves) and the harlots (whores) received him with great gladness and expectation. Now don't get all riled up. I'm not bashing preachers. I plan to head a church someday myself. The fact of the matter is... I am ministering to someone right now. This page is my virtual church.  THIS IS ministry. Isn't it funny how it looks nothing like the stereotypical ministry? I hate stereotypes.

Just imagine if everyone could believe what they felt in their heart was right, and no one condemned them for it. I mean, unless of coarse that belief causes you to try to kill my or blow up my house or church. That's a bit different. I'm talking about a non-violent relationship with YOUR God. Seek out what you want to learn about, and learn about it. It's as simple as that.

So if you like what you read so far, maybe we'll get to know each other... or not. It doesn't matter.

Here is the bottom line. I want to go to heaven. You also want to go to heaven. When I sin, I get back up. I realize I did wrong and ask for forgiveness. Then I maintain communication with God when I'm not in sin.  I read the Bible, pray, and confess God's Word over my life. It helps me deal with the negative that comes at me every day. The world isn't going to change for you. You have to change for the better on your own.

I know what your thinking. Bad things happen to good people. I know. I'm sorry, and I have no answer for that. Like I said, I'm not trying to convince you to be a Christian. Some people pray, and die. I don't know why. All I know is that I can tell that God is real, and when I spend time with Him, it makes me feel better.

Well, I didn't want to get into "walking by faith" right now. That is a whole different topic. What I wanted to get across with this introduction is that God loves everyone. I can't prove it, I just know it. This world is full of killing and hate, but God still loves you and me.

People miss it because they want God to do everything for them. You have to do things for yourself. If you want a better life, get out there and get it. It's there for the taking. Take it. God won't do it for you. He loves us so much he gave us choice. Your life is up to you, not God.

Choose life.
